We are getting married!!!!

Okay, so you all know that we are engaged, but you may not know that we are two weeks away from exchanging vows!!! Yes, we moved the date to March 15th. We went today to get our marriage license. I'm so freaking excited!

We cannot invite everyone, but we can invite everyone to pray for us! We are excited to see the day coming to us at such a snail's pace. I know it will go faster once we get past this week. I am so ready to take the walk towards Michael and commit our lives to each other.

The planning has been absolutely wonderful. We will marry at a place called Las Brisas Farm in Fayetteville, TX. Kaiden and Claire will be the ring bear and flower bear. Mike's brother and friend from college, Tim, will be the groomsmen. My friend, Kellie, and Mike's cousin, Kristi, will be my attendants.

Here comes the bride!!!

The diocese of Victoria

This post is in reference to waiting on the Final Decree of Annulment from the Catholic church:

I have already called a few people to let them know the terrible news we received from Victoria, but I figured I better clue everyone else in as well.

We are currently in a very big holding pattern in reference to planning the wedding because we found out that the diocese in Victoria NEVER sent the paperwork to San Antonio to be ratified. Yep. You read correctly. Without the help of someone pressing for questions, our case may still have been floating in la-la land without regards to how long it was taking or that there may be people trying to move on with plans.

So, we are in the talks of what to do, but we will have a better understanding (hopefully) of what the plans will be on Thursday or Friday. We are supposed to check back and see what all the details are and if we are the top of the list of cases to be heard.

When I first heard all of this, my bridezilla came out and I wanted to stomp on something. So, I went home and stomped in the grass. It helped. But, the pit of despair in my stomach is with me. I have faith that the Archdiocese in San Antonio will rectify this situation and help us out. They know that they were not at fault but that they can help.

Kellie's Dress Finding Experience

Yesterday was the all important day that we were able to find Kellie's dress. We headed to Austin from Brenham around 9:30 in the morning. There was much anticipation and excitement as I made my way from my home to hers.

Once we were joined together, we hastily made our way to Austin to start the looking process. Apparently, the mall is NOT the place to go since they don't have the color I've been looking for. We ended up at David's Bridal and found THE perfect dress.

Her dress fit beautifully. It was an awesome bargain at only $79.99!!!! I think my grandmother would be proud to know that we found it for what I consider to be such a deal!

Meanwhile, we are awaiting the arrival of the dress in April. Kellie said she knows a lady that could do the simple alterations at a very affordable cost.

It looks like all is well in the bridesmaid department.

An email I received about Wedding Day Stress

A Cool, Calm Wedding Day
I have one word for you: chaos. That's what all the pre-ceremony moments of the wedding day will probably feel like. There will be a dozen people around you, panicking because they forgot their camera, pricked themselves with the boutonniere pin, or hate their hairdo. But you, soldier, will be cool, calm, and poised for your march down the aisle, because you'll have followed this battle plan for wedding-day bliss:

1. Start your day off with your normal routine. If you're a cup of coffee girl, go for it. If you need to go running in the a.m., don't skip your workout. Your body will feel up for the day's challenge if you give it its usual fuel.

2. You're making one of those detailed itineraries, right? So be sure to add meals and energizing snacks to the list. Seriously, a lot of brides forget to do this, and low blood sugar will put anyone in a skittish or bad mood.

3. Have alone time. Being surrounded by your bridesmaids all day could start to get on your nerves. At the very least, make sure there is a room where you can go if you get the urge for some peace and quiet.

4. Something goes wrong? Who cares? You're still getting married and will have the best day of your life. Laugh about it — there is yet to be a wedding where everything went perfectly. And at least you'll have a good story to tell.

5. Remember that butterflies are okay. It's fine to feel nervous, but try to live in the moment. You may not love having all eyes on you — and today, all eyes will be on you. Resolve for this to be the one day when you will bask in the attention. And then take a deep breath and go get married!

Kellie and I will be heading to Austin on the 19th. We are hoping to find her dress. It should be terribly interesting to see what great photo ops come out of this shopping extravaganza!

I am so honored to have one of my best high school friends celebrate with my family the joining of Michael and me!!!!

The dreams that haunt me

I have started to have the infamous nightmares that creep into every bride's head as she prepares for the wedding.

I've had the dream where I'm trying to meet my friends to go dress shopping for their bridesmaid dresses. I've had the dream where I'm on the opposite side of the room from Michael while we are supposed to be getting married. I've even had the dream about not getting the license on time and/or forgetting it at home.

I was told that this is all normal, but it does NOT feel normal. It feels like I'm losing my mind. This will be the happiest day of my life. Why is it causing my dreams not only to start up again, but consist of the strangest things I've ever seen????

I don't think I will sleep between now and the wedding!!!
